Sakurai is upset that people were uploading reward-based cutscenes onto the internet, so his solution was to cut story mode from the game entirely. Though there isn't a story the way there was in Brawl, Sakurai says there is a mode that will "act as a separate mode from the standard versus play," though there's no word on what exactly that means.
